A Legacy of Faith Since 1866

Evangelical United Church of Christ has been rooted in Tell City since 1866, when early settlers began gathering for worship in homes. Just two years later, in 1868, our first church building was dedicated—a bold step of faith that marked the beginning of generations of ministry.

From those early days of German-language worship and circuit-riding preachers to a thriving congregation with a sanctuary that seats hundreds, our church has grown with the city itself. We've weathered floods, launched outreach ministries, and renovated sacred spaces—always with our eyes on Christ and our hands extended in love.

Today, we continue to reflect the image of Jesus in our community and our world through worship, mission, and welcome. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or have been part of our story for decades, you belong here.
